Mission

We will produce and host accessible articles on Systematic, Biblical, Historical, and Pastoral Theology. We will also curate content we find interesting and helpful from others that are in accord with our principles.

Founders

Jimmy Johnson

Jimmy Johnson serves as the Senior Pastor at Vista Baptist Church of Osceola, Missouri. He is a husband and father, and a sinner saved by the awesome grace of God in Jesus Christ. He is the cohost of Covenant Podcast. He received his BA in Christian Ministry, emphasizing in Biblical Languages. He will received His MDiv from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2020. He subscribes to the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith as a faithful summary of biblical teaching. He can be found on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

He co-founded this website to be dedicated to providing biblical, theological, confessional, and historical content that is accessible and beneficial to the Church of Jesus Christ. He contributes to the website to become more skilled as a writer, theologian, and pastor.

R. Austin McCormick

R. Austin McCormick is the Pastor of Sheppard Baptist Church in Dixon, Missouri. He was not raised in church; at the age of 18, he heard the gospel for the first time and was later saved by grace through faith in Christ. He serves his family as a husband and father. 

In 2019, he received his BA in Biblical Studies from Spurgeon College. In 2021, he received his MA in Pastoral Studies from Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently working towards the Master of Divinity degree at CBTS. He is the co-host of the Covenant Podcast, and co-founder of and contributor to Covenant Confessions. Some of his favorite authors include Benjamin Keach, Andrew Fuller, Charles Spurgeon, and Augustine.

Ryan Pendergraft

Ryan is the pastor at Osceola First Baptist Church, Osceola, Missouri. He is the husband to Cheyenna, and father to Lynnlee, Maelee, and Elijah. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Ministry from Spurgeon College; a Master of Theological Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and is currently enrolled in the MDiv program at MBTS.

Ryan loves theology, specifically systematic theology. He loves spending time with his family, his church, and he enjoys time recreationally outside; hunting, golfing, and yard work. His favorite authors are Sinclair Ferguson, R.C. Sproul, the Puritans, and many systematic theologians.

Rob Ruiz

Robert is a husband of 18 years to his wife Diana, and a father of 4 children, Sophia, Bella, Joziah, and Micah Luke. He is a veteran (retired) of the United States Marine Corps, and is currently studying to become a Physician Assistant. Robert has a passion for the unity and diversity of the Reformed tradition, and a love for the local church. Robert and his family reside in Southern California.

Dewey Dovel

Dewey is a Licensed and Ordained minister in the Southern Baptist Convention. He was raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, and is happily married to the love of his life, Beall. Dewey played college baseball at Western Texas College, where he received the Associate of Arts degree in General Studies and at The Master’s University, where he received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Ministries. After his collegiate baseball career, Dewey also went on to receive the Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from The Master’s University, and the Master of Theology degree in Historical Theology from Campbellsville University. Dewey is currently a doctoral student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, with a degree emphasis in Christian Worldview and Apologetics. Moreover, Dewey is a contributor to several online journals and believes that his ministry calling is to help God’s people grow in their awareness of what they believe, why they believe what they believe and how to graciously share their faith with those God has placed in their life.
